Cobots in action: a three-way technology transfer project

Valls, November 5, 2025. In the facilities of the PIRÁMIDE Public Integrated Vocational Training Center, in Huesca, one of the prototypes of the program has been presented. Cobots en acción, driven by Ministry of Industry.

The aim of Cobots en acción is the design and construction of a collaborative robot three-way between the three participating institutes: Centro Público Integrado de Formación Profesional PIRÁMIDE, from Huesca;

Institut Comte de RiusComte de Rius, from Tarragona; and Institut Lluís Domènech i Montaner from Reus, with the collaboration of the company Andreu Manteniment Industrial, SAU of Valls. This is a clear example of technology and knowledge transfer between students from vocational training institutes and company technicians.

Andreu Manteniment Industrial, SAU, a company that is part of the Grup Andreu, projectes industrials, has participated in the project by providing training and mechanical advice.

Students from the three centers have worked on the same project, three exactly the same collaborative robot prototypes, which has served to share ideas and technology among them.

One of the main objectives of Cobots en acción it is break the gender gap, especially significant in technological studies that are excessively masculinized.

Once the practice is finished, the final project will be shared with different vocational training institutes so that other students can carry out the same practice. To this end, a shared folder has been opened on an online platform, through which all students working on the project will be able to contribute and share experiences.

In the opinion of Jordi Andreu, manager of the Grup Andreu, projectes industrials: “This is a clear example of knowledge transfer between the company and vocational training students, an excellent way to put into practice the technology and mechanics training of young people and to motivate boys and girls, future engineers, for global technological challenges.“. From Grup Andreu, we appreciate the good coordination and collaboration with the three centers involved and we are delighted to have collaborated in the birth of our Three-way cobot.
